Christmas Traditions

Lillie enjoying the cookie that was almost as big as she was!

VERY excited about her cookie! I think she only ate about two real bites and gnawed on the rest and dropped it on the floor.

Huge gingerbread house!

Family picture in the sleigh
We decided to have some fun family time during this Christmas season.  We took Lillie to the Gaylord Texan Hotel to see all the decorations.  It's has some really impressive decorations including huge trees and life-sized ginger bread houses.  We had a blast!! I love making memories and starting our own traditions for our little family!

Godzilla

We jokingly call Lillie "Godzilla" at times because she can be slightly destructive at times.....  This is the front of our cabinet in the kitchen.  The other night we were all hanging out and playing.  Lillie went around the corner to the kitchen and we heard this loud crash.  I ran to the kitchen to see that she had yanked off the front of the cabinet.  She had never played with it before and it wasn't loose.  Apparently she thought it was a drawer and decided she needed in it.  This was also the same day we had to put a child lock on our silverware drawer because she is tall enough to reach in and grab the knives (Yikes!)

No place like home....

So Lillie has an obsession with this red Wizard of Oz shoes.  These shoes were given to us by a friend and whenever Lillie finds them, she has to put them on.  She has even figured out how to do it herself.  :-)

Everyone needs red shoes to mop.

Doing a little cooking in the shoes.

And a little more mopping....with the shoes on!

SMTT!!!

For all my Texas friends, SMTT is "Southern Miss To the Top!" a cheer from Southern Miss.  That would be the University of Southern Mississippi---not University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) or Mississippi State.

Lillie and I went for a quick weekend trip to Hattiesburg while Nathan was in Sudan.  We had planned on going to the game, but Lillie was feverish and teething (thus the drool all over her outfit) so we cheered the Eagles on from the comfort of Grandmother's house.
Reading a book with Grandmother

Watching the Eagles on tv.  Apparently it was an important play!
Not to sure about the pom pom....

Giving it a try...

So it seems like everyone I know has a blog and I'm caving to the peer pressure and going to try it out.  I've always enjoyed reading other people's blogs, but wasn't really into opening myself up to try one.  I don't think that I have enough interesting things going on, but my little entertainer Lillie makes me laugh a lot so maybe she'll make other people laugh too.  I have also been terrible about documenting her life in her baby book and all, so maybe this will help me keep up with some special memories.  I know--great mom to start documenting at 14 months....
